The Colourful Card Entrepeneur.

The Colourful Card Entrepeneur.

Three years ago a friend was sharing her knowledge on courses and how they have really benefited people from her dedicating the time to build them.

I couldn't stop thinking about how I could do the same so we drafted out the modules and the skeleton of my very own course was established.

Little did I know at that point exactly how much work the course would take but I am certainly not afraid of a challenge !

I spent the first few months of 2023 drafting out the content for each module , I am a real stickler for details when it comes to thinking through processes so this took a while and I also began gathering visual elements to demonstrate certain things within the modules, then...

I saw a shop for let lol...and my focus was turned in another direction while I got that up and running however I did find time at the beginning of 2024 and 2025 to spend time working on more elements of the course so it was building and I couldn't stop now as I really hate having a project unfinished.

At the beginning of 2025 I decided to close the shop ( again more on that another time ! ) so I knew at some point I was going to have time to finish the course, cut to 2026 and here I am recording, learning and fine tuning my baby determined to have it finished this year and out in the world.

Having been through all of the stages of growing I Drew This and approaching all of elements of setting up a small publishing business I knew exactly how nervous I felt even at the simplest of events and the main thing I wanted to offer in my course is assurance at those stages so others don't feel so nervous and can feel in control, I know now more than ever that nerves and excitement are the same but for me that feeling could be quite overwhelming at times especially at trade shows when you have invested so much financially.

I also wanted to share ways that you really can get the best out of working with customers either retail or wholesale and use information to grow your ranges wisely, this was something I learnt years ago when working in house years as an in house designer for Watermark Publishing.

I know I am not the biggest publisher out there,  I do not rate the success of my business on its turnover , I value my personal life highly so for me it has always been about keeping that healthy work/life balance and sustaining my creative work and  relationships with retailers , something that I am very proud to say I have up to this point I have successfully done.

In order to finish the course I have been on a very intense technical journey which has involved me actually doing a course on building a course , getting to grips with a lot of technical things that I didn't know I was going to need to do and finally The Colourful Card Entrepeneur is finally available for others to buy and use.

My main hope is that what I have created gives structure and guidance to those considering entering the greeting card industry as it really is one of the most fun industry's to work within and can open up so many opportunities for creatives, its not easy but if you are like me you can make it work with hard work and focus !

Anyone out there considering enrolling do get in touch I would love to work with you do get in touch if you have any questions :)
